Morning in Her Eyes

Morning in Her Eyes

it was Sunday Morning, I woke up and got dressed.
I went outside, hopped in the car, and waited until I arrived.
Normally, She would be there, waiting for me at the door,
but she wasn't there today, though, I was quite early.
I walked inside, and to her room, and glanced inside to see,
Her laying there by an empty spot, as if waiting for me.
I laid down beside her, put my arms around her,
and watched as she woke up and smiled.
I never thought such a pretty thing could star out so wild.
it went from confusion to recognition, to joy in short refrain.
She smiled wide and hugged me close,
And dragged me down again.
So there we lay for an hour or two,
Enjoying each other being there,
Running my hands along her back,
or ruffling her scruffy hair.
She seemed happy and content,
with me there by her side,
If I said I wasnt the same,
then I'd've lied.
She makes me happy every day,
though not to my surprise.
I want to wake up to the dawn,
and see Morning in her eyes.
