Mother's Day and Father's Day

Mother’s day is here and gone

and mom got a washing machine

new pots and forks

dishes and spoons

She got roses that’ll dry

and cards she’ll throw away

she got hugs in the morning

and maybe the only hugs

she gets for a few months

She gets things that are pink

things to make housekeeping

easier

like vacuums and aprons

But don’t worry mothers'

Fathers' have it worse

They get lawn mowers

and tool-boxes

T-shirts and wallets

they also get cards

but no roses

they may get boxers

or undies

but they don’t get hugs

and always a day after

Father’s day

Both days

are like disposable love songs

just as great

and just as forgettable

To all the hard working mothers make it your day everyday

and.......................

To all those fathers..................just keep doing what you do.........
