Poem -

mothers grief

you lied on the bed
dead to us all
your breath was shallow
staring into oblivion
skin ice cold
clothes from yesterday
the news tore you away
when grandpa died
so did you
depression consuming
what was left of our mother
two kids unaware
outside she was dead
but inside
she battled to keep her head
above water
