Muffled Cries

Muffled Cries

They only take you so far:
curious gaze eyes
Do you too have ears that hear

The clockwork is tightly wrapped;
invisible cogs,
oiled by innocent blood

Its victims writhe introvert
asphyxiated;
tied up in petrochem knots

Their throats gripped by consumers
happily riding
on their wonderful machine

Smoke hazing up mercure glass:
liquid display screen,
manufactured Fantasia

Listen to the tortured earth,
groaning in torment;
crushed under Highway Regret

They have said that the production of the automobile, ultimately resulted in the stock market crash of 1929, in America. The banks were also at fault. When the cars were first invented, we didn't have as many environmental issues, or we had them, but they were undiscovered at the time. We need to be able to get to and from work, school and our past times. However, I would like to see more electric cars and our youth coming up with answers to some of our hardest questions, like: what could we use to power transportation that is good for the environment. The self-driving cars (scare me), however if they use something other than gasoline and omit less fossil fuels, then great!

Good work!
