Poem -

To Mummy

Although I love it

in your womb,

I want to come

and see you soon.

It's been lovely

in your tummy,

but now I want to hug

my Mummy.

And I will pray

just like a druid,

in your amniotic fluid

that life with you

will be so happy

and every time

you change my nappy

I'll be thinking

of the years to come,

growing older

with my Mum.

So I’ve just got one

more thing to say

'see you on the tenth of May'.

May 1998

For my daughter Maddy - due on the 10th of May, arrived on the 22nd.

No wonder she's always late for school.
