My Achilles Heel

My Achilles Heel

I wish I’d not eaten that cup cake
Or at least one that wasn’t that big.
I wish I had chosen an apple
then Β I’d not now feelΒ like a pig

I wish I’d poured out just one less drink
Or changed it for coffee so black,
and not touched the nibbles of olives
I’ll never get my waistline back

I wish I could hate creamy pastas
or cheese that is melted on toast,
or things fried in batter , it just doesnt matter
if it’s there Β then I’ll eat it most!

I wish I could love a green salad
or never eat bread with a meal,
just Β eat fruit all day, cause you know what they say,
I am lost..food’sΒ  my Achilles heel!

Food, our guilty pleasures, I do hate walking around shopping centres, it's all chocolate, cakes, fizzy drinks and bad carbs, They put them at the checkouts, they practically ram them down your throat.

I'm reading a great book called the hybrid diet, it's brilliant.

Great poem.

Hi, I've been on the hybrid diet for about 4 weeks, it's all protein and veg, very little carbs, no white bread, no sweets, no crisps, no chocolate, no fizzy drinks.

It's difficult at the start but the more time that passes, the less cravings you get for junk food.

It's all about eating lots of fat, pushing your body into ketosis, your body thinks your starving so it starts to eat away at your fat reserves.

You get more energy everyday.

A Lonely Journey

Lody,Β
That was so much fun, and wonderfully written. Food is great(fortunately, I'm one of those who can eat anything, and everything, and not gain weight. Sorry!).Β
Enjoyed that!Β

Oh Matthew you are one of those blessed individuals who clearly have a metabolism that works really effectively...I do so envy you - I try to convince myself and anyone else listening thatΒ  I have heavy bones..very, VERY heavy bones.!!..my husband counters that though by telling me the truth... and that is that ..I can resist anything...except temptation!!Β  Β  so pleased you enjoy it hun xx

LOL! You are fun, Lodi.Β
My mom always used to claim 'heavy bones' too! She was fun like you.Β
People are always amazed because I'll sit at a buffet eating for hours, and not gain a pound, while they get 1 or 2 plates, but I guess you're right about the metabolism(or I have a tapeworm...which may be the case, because I eat tapeworms, too).Β
Great job, my friend!Β
