"My Amends"

"You saved me,
oh Lord,
on that fateful day,
and it left me,
with millions,
of words I can say,
to help others,
and hopefully repay,
You for what You did,
while I was amid,
demons snarling,
snapping their jaws,
smelling fresh prey,
as they sharpened,
their claws.

They turned in disgust,
while Your Light,
enveloped me,
as I became protected,
I started to believe,
and as the start,
of my spiritual journey,
had just begun,
I realize now,
I had already won.

Because you made me,
see again,
as we are now,
the closest of friends.
Just know my love,
and admiration,
will never end.
You know my heart,
and that it cannot pretend,
and that these deep feelings,
with love in the prayers I send,
will be the source of my amends."
