My Cane of Honor

My Cane of Honor

My cane of honor, carved from a military rifle, with a handle made from antelope antler

I bow to our soldiers in war, a time to fight, feelings of anger

Yet in this battle of salvation, the crown of glory

We take heed, for what we stand for, not just another war story

Blood upon a hill, the mountainside, let it find the fountain of heaven

Where we drink from the same cup filled with strength thou has given

As I too, a soldier of war, now rest at peace, wounded, lost in time

As my cane of honor salutes, to our military, to all men and women

This cane of mine, now is on a mantle of my great grandson

May we end all war in peace
