Poem -

My Child

It’s time to sleep
time to say goodnight
lay down your head
close those eyes
no fear for the night.

I’d sing you a lullaby soft,
for dreams serene.
I’d sing of the grass green
and the lady queen.

I’d watch you grow
your first steps
your first words
my heart bursting with pride
me and my beautiful child.

I’d keep you safe with love
we would play and dance
leaving nothing to chance
smile and sing wild
me and my
beautiful child.

We’d run with the wind
bask in the sun, and
skip through the rain
the ride home
on the train.

You’d grow and flourish
you’d be loved
and cherished.
My life for my child
my beautiful
moon child.

Time now to sleep
time for me to dream
dream of what could be
of me, and my beautiful child.
