You cannot mask the pain inside you
As all of them pass you by
They'll wish they hadn't once you come shining through
All the ones that didn't invite you
You felt you had to invite them
Just to be included 

Maybe, just maybe they'll regret it today 
As you walk alone to greatness 
In a different direction then the two 
Who walk together to failure 

One, so terrified of being alone
That she would drown another
To pull herself up to the surface
Latching herself to the other
As if she was her protector
Protector of dignity
Protector of hurt

The other unaware of the damage she has caused to your heart
Her words spoken without thought or kindness
Said without mercy 
She laughs
Unable to understand the pain she has brought upon you 

And here you stand amongst this
Wondering what you did to deserve it
But my dear
You do not deserve this
You deserve everything you desire
Because you're perfect
Others may not see it yet
But you are perfect

Believe it or not 
For what I am to say next 
Might not be what you want to hear

But you have foolishly thought
That grasping yourself onto the two
Would bring you up to the social surface as well

You are meant to be high in the sky 
Far above the water's surface
Where you can be free
You are not meant to be drowned for another's well being

So now as you sit in the dark cold water
Know this. 

It will take a while to realize
But I know you have the courage
To put this into action 

When you must fight for love
It is better to walk alone to success
Than walking together in failure
