My eyes

My eyes

I sat behind the windows
my head bent and still
shrouded in the dark
I traced my name
on the frosty glass
my eyes I had lost
nothing could I capture
Oh what a shame it be!
for the allure of human
never fails to awake
the predator inside.
they say my eyes
merged with my body
I smelt, I felt and absorbed
none could quench my appetite
like my watchful eyes.
A song was playing
someone was singing
all were clapping along
why had nature passed me on
when gifting glee to others?
dost I remind you
I do it not for merriment
but to feed three empty stomachs
for destroying fish
with supple resources
seems no sinful matter.
My glance diverted
yet again as I looked
to the precipice
one foolish fish
was preparing to jump
Sighing I drove off
into the Levant
