My Footprints

My Footprints

On the earth, there lives a soul, of man and animal

Where my footprints once traveled that trail, so long ago

My ancestors had a gift, the gift of life, to live and to breathe

Run from disease, nourish the young, provide food for the people

I have ran through these forests, walked miles on these dirt roads

Road horseback into the mountains, and fished in the rivers and lakes

My native land, where pride still stands, never let the path disappear

But let the memories of the courageous never leave this place

Where my footprints have left the mark of my spirit it aches to exist

Good write, thanks for sharing, my applause, my love, my vote

My native land, where pride still stands, never let the path disappear

But let the memories of the courageous never leave this place

Where my footprints have left the mark of my spirit it aches to exist
