Poem -

My Hands are Shaking

My hand lightened by commitment lost
I use It to brush my hair from my eyes
Self soothing the act
I call out my name
No response

After the fires burn
And the vegetation is Gone
What will hold back the Earth
As the tides turn
Are the walls Strong enough
To hold back the invading waves

When light Awakens the night
And the cats come to feed
I'm forced to decipher the truth
Yet willing to accept The falsities
As long as they are coupled with a smile And a cup of Coffee

As I enter the chaos
I walk alone
Wondering if anyone is willing to
Hold my hand
