My Heart Bleeds

Native tongue I speak, only the earth and sky speak back
The feathered friend, my eagle soars overhead, with widen wings
The the cliff be high, the valleys low, the wind is my keeper when she blows
I can feel my heart beat, and it bleeds with the sorrow of my soul mates
That have since gone away, into the darkness, into the cactus dust they lay
Where my great grandfather once walked and my great grandmother wove
The blankets we covered ourselves while we would sleep, and now I have nothing left
Except the memory of my life as a brave, now my skin has shed all burdens
They are in spirit with the rest, as my heart bleeds, I still stand proud upon a cliff
My chin high, my spear I shake, as I chant to the forests, and cry out the echoes
Of my red open wounds that have healed over time, as I find myself fading away
