Poem -

My Kind Of Revenge

Murmurs of old insults and assumptions
Linger in my thoughts as I laugh
At how wrong they all were about me
As I drink a glass of champagne in my mansion
Listening to the birds outside the window
Their chirps are the anthem of my peaceful life
One that I worked hard to achieve
Because I have always believed in me
Success is the only good kind of revenge
Because the people who hate you are forced to watch
Your victories on TV and in magazines,
As they sit in their damp apartments with dead careers,
Still bitter about the girl they couldn't destroy
With their poisonous tongues and seething lips
If anything, their opposition made me stronger,
I've turned into a woman, a dazzling star,
That shines for others, one that I'm proud of
That's my kind of revenge.
