Poem -

My Shadow

He was my shadow
My little Boo Boo Bear
Pulling himself up to pat my leg
While I stood and did the dishes
He was bright eyed and full of light
Never meeting a soul he did not like
Grew strong and handsome
Independent and full of the rites of men
Went to war and stood so tall
He did his part for God and country
When he returned home with Gulf War Syndrome
The government turned their backs
He is caught in the world of voices
The ones that never sleep
I can only be there and offer love
Try to find answers for him to keep

I feel your love and pain for him in this entire piece. Sad yet well written. It is terrible how people are just left ❤️
