Shadows on the Snow

Cold and frosty the days grow colder with each wind of the blistering snow

My shadow is found on the snow and I see others for I am not alone

These shadows are here for a reason, they belong to the earth and to the sky

The moon casts its shadow each time our spirits pass and then daylight the sun

Takes a look upon the snow and our shadows come to life once again we show

That no one can take away our land our birth from each valley in winters hand

It lives through the mystery of man only our native spirits shadows are left on earth

With the feathers of the eagle he flies high above to look down with many days ago

We walked together in life with the greatest of respect we now become a shadow

In the darkest of snows
