New Horizons

Our search for knowledge never abates
trust me after all my many years
my thirst for knowledge and new horizons
is ever gnawing at my soul
to nourish my ever inquisitive mind
the moment I stop wanting to explore
this amazing planet and its wonderful secrets
is when it's my time to say adieu
presently, it appears to be
a very long time from now
I really don't think I'm all that unique
but because of my retirement
it provides me with the opportunity
not available to me earlier in life
a very rewarding way to spend my later years
a joyous way to discover and appreciate
this wonderful world we have around us
thank goodness for nature programs

This is a great write.
Very much appreciated my friend... thanks a bunch!!! Cheers, Happy Jack ???
"but for now, that seems like
a very long time from now" ... Forgive me for nit-picking, Jack, but using the word "now" in such close proximity sounds a bit redundant.
Please consider the following:
Presently, it appears to be
a very long time from now.
However, it IS your poem so you may consider my suggestion, or not.
It's never too late for an old dog to learn a new trick or twop.
