New Zealand

New Zealand

It is in the way the light shines on the water
Or the breeze softly scented of the sea
In the roundness of the shoreline
As it curves sensually towards me
The ancient rocks are witness
To the love that has been shared
The ageless mystery of life
Ever renewing itself in you and me
I hear the whispers of the ancestors
Smell the cook fires in the wind
Listen for the drums and chanting
Telling tales from days gone by
oh  New Zealand you call to me
Its where I want to live my days
Until sweet death sets me free
