"NINE, TEN NEVER SLEEP AGAIN"

“Nine-Ten, Never sleep again”
Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock,
the clock seems to reverberate,
rythmatically in my own head,
Can this be a reoccurring dream of mine?
are can it just be, I am simply dead.
The sheep I had once count, now counts me
and no longer rings true, so what is a soul to do?
Sleep once again, has felled me as I lay,
watching black nights Turn to day blue.
Not always was I robbed, of nightly borrowed minutes,
now turned, to stolen hours,
Emotions were measured in small drizzles,
now they approach, in the form of torrential showers.
Pandemonium felt as I attempt to count,
the many breath, I breathe from my lung.
Even the sound of rain, against my window,
refuses to surrender the lullaby, it once sung,
Many may ask why the light of day escaped me,
yet night, placed under a gun,
My questions isn’t for whom the bells toile,
rather for what reasons, haven’t they, for me rung?
Crickets’ chirping right below my window,
an owl hoots, right outside my door,
As I look near the silhouette of the clock on the wall,
the chime strikes, (a.m.) four.
Like two ships in the night you evade me,
a boat without effort, left to float.
A dim beacon, of a lone light house in the distance,
useless and allocated to no boat
A body with no sleep, is like a battery without any charge,
defected to the core.
An enigma to me by all means, just as deprived sleep
never to be sought by me anymore.
Nine-ten, never too sleep a gain, like a loaded gun,
my dark circled eyes, burn blood shot red,
Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, the clock once on the wall,
has now stopped, as I lay alone in my bed.
Jim

Curtis, like your style and the (Acrostic) you rocked with this one, Maddison, it appears has awakened some sleeping giants in this style of poetry in herself as well as you...Your style of quick thinking poetry and comments, remind me of (Jai Masters) outstanding style of delivering poetry and comments..."On top of your game.''
Jim
C-clever in all aspects of writing, in a class of his own.
U-unconditional perfection, placed in his poetic works.
R-reach for the stars, is his approach, in his poetic deliverance
T-thinker at all times is he and poetically witty.
I-insite beyond belief is he and quick with all of his responses.
S-serious as a heart attack, with no intentions of an actual attack.
L.-lots of love to you, your style and the lack of limitations in your play with words...

Piusha, from you, always an honor and appreciations, given to you in return...I remember once before when you stated it was approaching "3" are better. Is your attempt to rest as biologically confused, as mine? My sleep habit is to be around 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. some times, if i am lucky, since i have changed the time of my work load....
Take Care,
Jim
Thanks Cherie,
And i like the comment..(I was feeling sleepy until I read this poem). My second laugh for today,(this one you just made and Faiths)(Poemizzle yo)!
Kindest of all regards,

Jim this was an insomniacs bible of despair, you made me want to grab my hot chocolate, run upstairs and hide under my duvet just in case I couldn't sleep! I have never myself been an insomniac. No matter what I could sleep on a washing line lol, but having 4 beautiful children believe me I have been deprived of sleep on many occasions and it still haunts me now ha ha!! You depicted the desperation, and the haunting taunt of the clock to perfection! You are an eloquent writer Jim and this was no exception. I loved this one, you definitely get my vote:)
Rachel,
You have a heart of (Gold) and i thank you for stopping by my neck of the woods....Hope all is well with you and Mr. (J.G.)..In all actuality, i was up, the night i wrote this and in fact could not sleep, so i decided to use my time wisely, rather than lay there counting sheep, that appeared to be having just as much trouble leaping over their fence as i was trying to catch and count them... And paying homage to the echoing rain, plunging against my window pane, made my head hurt more than anything..Thank you once again dear lady....And as always.............................
Cheers to you,
Jimmy
You are welcome Jim, it is always a pleasure:)
For someone who experiences insomnia on a regular basis now (sometimes lasting up to three days at a time) I can definitely relate to this write. Your poem captures all I think and all I feel when I lay in bed at night without sleep...but on a completely different level. Your words are beyond anything I could ever write and I admire your style of writing so very much! This one is unbelievably amazing. 5*s from me and another add to my favorites!
Love Always,
Val <3
Hello Mrs. Jason Luke,
Every word is worth "GOLD" coming from you Valerie and i hope all is o.k. with you and thank you a million for your kind comment but to you, we all take back seat to the more powerful of all poems, the definative and meaningful, heart spoken (Haikus). Sorry to hear, that sleep evades you so and i really truly wish, that one day you fall asleep and wake back up, in a world waiting just for the two of you, Jason and yourself with nothing but time on your hand to do as you want and as many times as you want and with all that you want and this is the wish i will always wish for the both of you and until that day, my wish book will be empty of all other wishes accept this one...Take Care my dear friend and pass the hellos from me to your Knight in shining armor as well....Always thinking of and praying for you both.........So (GOD), you owe me one and i wish for this to be that one and we will call it, "even steven".....
Forever a friend,
Jim
