No Heroes

When the days grow darker

And hope drips away

Can we get a hero?

One to come and save the day

We have no Superman

But the villains are as real as air

Can we get a big blue Boy Scout

Who will fix this world in disrepair

We have no spider-man

But we still get the unfortunate accidents

Can we have a friendly neighborhood web slinger

Who will save and not abandon it

We have no batman

But we do have the looneys in the streets

Can we have are own dark knight

To beat these terrors into hamburger meat

We have no captian America

Who stands for all of us down trodden

Can we have a wing head

To shield us from the rotten

We have no Wonder Woman

To tell us the truth from the lies

Can we have an Amazon

To deflect the deceit from our eyes

We have no wolverine

Someone who cant be killed

Can we have an old knucklehead

To leave the ones that want to hurt us peeled

We have no heroes here

And I'm afraid we are not gonna get any

But we can keep the hope alive 

And pursue the needs of the many
