No retreat no surrender

We may not know, where we’re going
Sometimes we can lose our way
Sometimes we follow a broken dream
Even though we know it's leading us astray

And we keep on going down that road
Hoping we will find the elusive success
So we keep pushing ourselves
Thinking after we found it,
then we will take that much, deserved rest

So, we keep carrying that touch
And keep going on and on
Refusing to acknowledge 
That hope in our hearts may be already gone

But what else could we do
We can't give up and accept defeat
So on our journey through life
There can be no surrender or retreat

And some elements in life will try to break your spirit
To make feel blinded and wanting to quit
But we know that giving up will only haunt us
And just have us wondering " what if" 
is something that would be hard to live with

Because life is full of hopes and aspirations
All fuse together like juice in a blender
So, on our quest to see it through
So there can be no retreat or surrender

You would stand there all day scratching a lottery ticket
Thinking that with the next one you would win 
Then someone just buys the next ticket
And win as soon as they walk in

Sometimes your will be tested
When you feel like the sun is shining on you
But the sun may not be out today
But the sky will always be blue

As long as you are honest
And you’re trying your best
You will only focus on the man in the mirror
With a burning desire for success

Many fall short without any reason
So many I’ve known died way too young
Talking with them their hopes and dreams and aspirations
With them under the ground

And they may not have found their pot of gold
But still they had an open agenda
And never give up once on reaching their rainbow
No retreat or surrender

Until our last breath is taken
Our tomorrow will be marked on the calendar
There will be no retreat or surrender
And if we do fall short of our years 
Our hearts will be free of malice 
As we are welcome into the home of the messenger
