Not A Word Against . . . . . .

They say never to speak ill of the dead,
unlike in the film: 'The Big Chill,' -
where the mourners sat around slagging off
the deceased, saying what a bugger he was.
My brother would never hear a word againstĀ
his wife, whom to be frank was sometimes awful,
even he would occasionally halt her tirades,
which included negroid features and smelly feet.
Here's an underground chat: 'They can say anything,
I'm gone now, remember a few good points -
there must be some, like he would do things for you,
get the shopping, take you to the doctor, then tell lies.'
You might even find something out cheerfully,
like it transpired after all, that he left you a legacy.Ā
