Not For Sale

Not For Sale

Current events have crippled my will to speak.
Weighing injustices on my neck,
I can't breathe!
Our conscience,
Trapped in a virtual reality.
No surprise they don't see us individually.
We can't continue to live with racism.
Don't shoot, Stop the violence!
Although my voice is on mute, I refuse to be silenced.
We can prevent all wars through prejudice-free conversation.
I'm wearing this hoodie, I shouldn't need an explanation.
You tell me,
When the dust settles after cremation,
Ashes to ashes,
There will be no differentiation,
Between you and I.
 Or is that a lie?
We validate every thing with science and religion,
Still you feel superior than I?
Why?
Afraid of my melanin? Unnecessarily calling in?
You can have anything in this world,
Except for my black skin.
