NOT LIGHT

NOT LIGHT

It’s a heavy night
Though a familiar weight
I know not the cause
A blot of mustard
Or a heart scared sore

Time has slowedΒ
Cheshire’s cat grins dance
As if to remind me
Joy is an illusionΒ
Out of reach to all but the few

Breath becomes labored
Walls close in
Peaking my claustrophobiaΒ
I pant
This three minute still plays on and on

Foresight short moments away
I become unsaveable
Stiffed’ly bound corpse
Death by folly
Cremation by match

Take me out
This weight is a crusher
Drain this blood
It boils at first touch
Know you the kiss of β€œsoldiers joy”?

I long for oblivionΒ
Lead me to obscurity
Coax me back to desuetude
Resign me my turpitudeΒ
It’s heavy night
