Can you be gentle with yourself,
add kind and tender too?
Lend credence to an unmarked path,
and be distinctly you?

Can you begin to trust yourself,
not live in endless fear?
For even if you fail or fall,
you shall not disappear.

Can you cease chiding for a day?
In place, add something nice.
Think not because it’s in my head,
I pay no lofty price!

Can you please love your shell for once,
and judge not for a time?
Your loving thoughts are purest joy,
your judgements are the crime.

Can you grasp pleasure by the ears?
Forget the guilt right now.
Go! Roll around in its delights.
No soul will care, I vow.

Can you be gentle with yourself,
add soft and loving too?
Then grant yourself what you grant those,
Who walk this path with you.
