Numbness

Feeling like shit is terrible
And we all hate feeling small
But the very worst feeling that I know,
Is feeling nothing at all
I'd rather feel anything
Instead of this hopelessness
A broken heart is so much better
Than bitter emptiness
When people tell me they're feeling low
I tell them they are lucky!
Because I bet they have no clue
How it feels to feel nothing
And as I watch you all
Who weep sometimes in the dark
I wish I could feel the hurt you feel
Because I'm tired of this numbness
