obsolete hearts

obsolete hearts

people change their mind
they get dressed
they look in the mirror
they don’t like what they see
they change their clothes
they change their shoes
they try this on and that
a taste becomes a fashion
fashions pass like clouds
new fashions come
as if the sun were shining Ā
for the first time
what is no longer a novelty
becomes obsolete
in a continuous cycle
the sparkle of the new
takes the space of that
which is no longer new Ā
little by little
those things go out of our life and
are left behind in oblivion
people change their coats
people change their hairstyle
they become excited
about something today
to the point of obsession and
tomorrow they are excited about
something different
Ā
people change their mind
yesterday she said to you
ā€˜I love you’ and today she says
ā€˜I don't love you anymore’
in that way
a heart in love breaks and
becomes obsolete

The everyday comparisons to something so innocent as changing your look or outfit gave real validity to the deeper darker complications of love, love isn’t difficult , it can be as simple as an outfit that we enjoyed to now we’re bored with it… But we make it difficult because of the heart and the ā€œfeelingsā€ Really enjoyable read and I really liked your perspective .Ā

To be honest with you, I took a different approach. I tried to imagine The devils wears Prada approach to my poem. Ā
