Death of a Cigarette

Death of a Cigarette

As the last smoke you release,

The cigarette crashes and burns,

The ashes fall onto the floor,

And the flame slowly starts to die,

In its dying moments,

Your head feels free,

Your lungs beg for mercy,

Why do you want to choke ,

On this hellish smoke ,

For just a hit ,

To loosen your mind ,

You are killing everything on the inside ,

Why do you unwittingly sign your own death sentence  ,

Stop before it gets too late ,

You can decide your own fate ,

As the last smoke you release ,

The cigarette crashes and burns ,

Satan stands there laughing ,

And as you crush the simple stick,

The ashes drop like blood .

And as it falls into an open grave ,

It’s turned you into its slave.

Hi Yash,

Wow, my exact sentiments for over sixty years, the most ugly cigarettes.  I have detested smoking since I was a young lad.  Never put a cigarette to my lips.  Always avoided second hand smoke.  Always tried to eschew as friends, people who smoked.  Never allowed it in my home.  Never put up with it in my company.  I lost a lifelong friend ( he started smoking when he was twelve), to lung cancer at fifty-two. We've come a long way to ban the butt, but we're only half way home.  Cigarettes need to be eradicated from the face of the earth.  Great write Yash.  I loved your every word.  Welcome to Cosmo, my new found friend.

Peace and Love,

xox Larry

Hello Yash...

Smokers have lost many rights...

I don't think it should always be so one sided...

If they ban cigarettes they need to ban all things that contribute to cancer...

Air we breath...

Food we eat...

Water we drink...

How about it?

Then noone ever should get cancer...

Riggt?

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

Hi Sparrowsong ,

I do agree with you are saying too and I guess it's one sided . It's just more to do with how I felt at the moment while sitting in this night club and I didn't mean to target anybody it's just the feeling that overcomes at the point in time .

Thank you, never actually thought about it the way you put it .

Best Regards,

Yash.
