Oh Dear Parent

Oh Dear Parent

Oh Dear Parent,
If you only would have been what you were supposed to be. Then maybe I could have seen that your heart was still beating for me. I tried to figure out what was so wrong with me, but no solution was right for this problem. Even math was easier than this mystery you made up the day I was born.
I am not the child you raised me to be, I am the daughter of my father who taught me to be free. You took all the credit for my victories, but how could you when you had already left this home. I can still hear your footsteps on the pavement as you walked away. If you would listen closely you could here my heart breaking. Dear god that is the day my blood started dripping. My bedsheets became redder than they were white with every drop that fell.
Dear parent, I wish things could have ended better. I wish my goodbye could have been on the day of my graduation, not on a basic Monday. Dear parent, I wish I did not have to be better than you. God knows I wish I could have been just like you.
