Old Folks At Home

Old Folks At Home

In the past, on July the 4th, we have traveled and we’ve roamed;
But this one was very different, “The Old Folks Stayed At Home”!
“Home” meaning outdoors in our village, where a giant fest was held;
With almost one hundred thousand people, upon the streets, there swelled!
.
They ranged from kids to seniors, our genre is the last;
But a few that guessed our ages, when we told them were aghast!
For they thought us in our fifties, not septuagenarians;
When we listened to their assessments, we each had happy grins!
.
This photo tells the story, of how young we looked that day;
We both eschew fake hair dyes, but we’ve hardly any grey!
Not bad for “two old fogies”, it proves the adage is for real;
Age is just a number, you’re only as old as you both feel!
.
.
                         Life has just begun
                   Seventy and feeling young
                         Age just a number

Dear Angel,

The poem might have been "cool", but it was almost a hundred degrees that day.
Thanks for the comment.  I'll check yours out now.

There's a beauty in a number
We're comfortable with time,
As long as you're together
Everything will work out fine...

Faith Hugs, lovely, lovely poem

Dear Faith,

It brings me such joy, when someone does as I do, and writes a poetic comment.  I have often wondered how the writers feel when I do it, and comments like yours, answer my question.
Your little poem hit the nail right on the head.  Thank you.

Hugs, Peace and Love,

We're as old as we feel
So very true
Or as old as the person
who's feeling you

Dear, dear Larry I'm much
older than you
And thankful for every day
that see's me through

You both look so happy
it keeps you young

Love x

My Dear Anne,

You're not that much older
Five years at the most
It's such a great thrill
Each other's poems to toast

Love,

Oh my dear Larry and Linda,
You don't look your age, and besides it's a privilege lol. Just enjoy life to the fullest .

Our Dear Leah,

Indeed, we are enjoying it "to the fullest".
We are truly happy with our move to Ohio from Florida.  So much more to do here.  So much less oppressive heat.
Of course, we are still hoping to be able to spend some time there this Winter.

All our love,
Linda and Larry xxx
