"On That Cross"

"In active addiction,
my life grinded,
to a screeching halt,
and I now know,
it was all my fault.

My pain kept me lost,
in the Devil's Trap,
but with The Guidance of God,
I now have a map,
and I trust in God,
to help see my way through,
as He changes my thinking,
and gives me a better view,
than the perspective I had,
in addiction that made me so sad,
but now in recovery,
I see things,
aren't all that bad.

That they can and will get better,
if I lean on Him,
and ask His Son,
to forgive my sins,
because the battle in addiction,
I constantly fought,
by using all the drugs I bought,
was won and over,
the day Jesus,
died on that cross for me,
and that is something,
I shall always believe."
