On the Nature of God

On the Nature of God

Ever since the forbidden fruit was eaten
We’ve lived with the result
Of the Fall:
Painful childbirth, distress, work till we drop:
No getting away from it all.

Yet if mankind were wiped out by plague
Would God continue to make animals suffer?
If we’re no- longer here
We can’t be blamed for the problem of evil
Would He start afresh or find another

Reason for having them suffer diseases,
Floods, famines, fires and droughts?
Not forgetting earthquakes, volcanoes
And foul weather they could do without.

And if God knows the future
Can He have free will?
Did He know from the start of the Fall?
Will Jesus ever return, and if so why the wait?
Can anyone explain it at all?
