• SYNOPSIS

Onam  is  named as the  harvest festival of  Gods own country , the so called state of Kerala  in South India. It is celebrated throughout the state of Kerala. Onam is like a national festival for all keralites spread around the world. It is indeed an  occasion for Keralities to memorize the  bountifulness and togetherness once in every year.  It is linked with the legendary king Maveli.

 Onam days,  in general comes  during the months of August-September. The celebrations will commence and continue for nearly 4 to 10 days consecutively, all the activities during this season are centered around worshiping, harmony, dances, games, boat races and in serving delicious food. The celebrations commenced on 05th of September and will continue for ten days. The main onam, " Thiruvonam " is being held on Sunday, 07th of this month.

Harvesting festival
is around the paddy field;
But nothing to harvest,
Except my own deadly sins!

Reaping Carnival
is around the shopping corner;
But nothing to dig out;
Except my own old culture!

Delicious homemade dish
is around the dining table;
But no one to taste it;
Except my own big stomach!
