ONLY LIFE

ONLY LIFE

"When I look back at my childhood I wonder how I survived at all"-
  Frank McCourt, Angela's Ashes.

When it comes down to it
All we have is life.
We may laugh or cry
But we're all going to die.

There may be times where
Despite our preparation
We're faced with scenarios
Of bleak desperation.

All we can do ultimately
Is breathe in and out:
That's what staying alive
Is all about

And if we accept our lives
And circumstances
And know that life
Won't give us answers

And that ultimately we're here
To reproduce:
To let our DNA
Run loose

We might accept that suffering
Is part of reality
An inevitable part
Of the lives we lead.

(We all die.
We know everyone will die
We cannot govern events;
Only govern ourselves).

Very well put and said. Exceptional sentences on death. Putting it into perspective about life. I particularly liked verse 6 and the last one. All stars ?
