OOPS!

OOPS!

About eight weeks ago Linda told me, she wanted to start knitting once again;
She hadn’t done it in over twenty-six years, and idle time on it she’d spend!
So, we went to Joann’s Fabric Shop, to buy her yarn and needles too;
We found a pattern for an afghan, that I wanted her to do!
.
It’s vibrant colors pleased me, turquoise, gold, rust and white;
I thought when she eventually got finished, it would be really out of sight!
So, she pored over all the directions, then started on her task;
She got totally absorbed in it, and many hours a day would pass!
.
It finally started taking shape, a couple of weeks ago;
The colors blended beautifully, as each inch longer it would grow!
The only thing she was not happy with, was how long it took each day;
She had put in eighty hours, it’s completion still far away!
.
But this morning she had a brainstorm, for something was not right;
So, she reread the directions, and discovered of her plight!
She had been doing double stiches, all her work had been for naught;
She had to tear it out, and rebegin, right down to the very last knot!
.
Some would have had a conniption fit, but she laughed and called my name;
“Larry, please come in here, there is something for which I am to blame”!
Then she told me of the mistake she’d made, as the afghan disappeared;
But, my Angel is so perfect, I kissed her saying, “That’s quite all right my dear”!
.
.
                                       Once we tied the knot
                                   My Angel could do no wrong
                                        Stitches out, Love in
