“Ouch aye the noo!!”

You can take the girl out of the country, yet never the accent out of the girl
As she dances her highland fling
with her kilt in a twirl
“Och Aye the noo “ she shouts to her Mam..Meaning “ I shall be there in a minute not giving a dam”
“Yee beta hed me hinny”, replies her Mother in a flap..Meaning “You best hurry up my daughter or as you know I will only yap”
“Dinna heat ya witta”, her doting daughter repied..Meaning “Do not get in a bad mood and all keyed up inside”
“GET YERSELL DOON DA NOO!!”
Means “GET OVER HERE NOW!!”, yells her Mother in a state
“Ay av ee git nae steam”, Meaning “ Can you just please wait”..answers her dearest daughter so very late
“Al gee yee sic a lickin”, Meaning “I will give you a thump”
“Eeh Ma ye ar sic a numpty”, Meaning “ Mother really do not grump”..bawls her beautiful daughter sounding very grumpy
“Agnus ye are deein me heed in”, Meaning “ Agnus you are driving me mad”
“Had yer weesht ma”, Means “Hold on Mother and don’t be sad”
Well when the bagpipes were done for the day, Agnus stopped her highland flinging and hurried away
Back to the gorbals of Glasgow town, where she lives in a tenement that is scruffy and run down
Yet Scotland is her home
Way up north of the border
Agnus has nine younger siblings
so she is top of the pecking order
But she adores her life living with her Mother, though she misses her Dad coz he eloped off with her Mother’s brother
