Our Mitch

When we lost our fur brother
we said we'd never have another
- This is Mitch, he's three
We love him so, the little bugger
-
Now Bichons are a stubborn breed
They often want what they don't need
Things go missing, my socks don't match
Hey presto! they're buried in the onion patch
-
At eight weeks he was very small
Nothing but a little snowball
Wherever we go he learned to follow
Our constant loyal little fur shadow
-
Because he's one of us, our family
I'll let him speak you will see...
-
"These are my people, I love them all
I am their loving bouncy little fur ball
I'm not a Pug or a Labradoodle
I'm certainly not a bloody poodle!"
-
"This dog is for life, I'm going nowhere
If you're off to work I wanna be there
If you've had a hard day, I want to play
I'm a Bichon Frise I'm here to stay"
-
"They never had kids, that's why I'm here
To fill the void of childhood cheer
No leaving home, no graduation
I'm loving you now and for the duration"
-
Fifteen years will come and go
Then he'll make his final bow
Somewhere between three score and ten
Dancing in heaven, we'll play again.

Hi John,
What a lovely tribute to your cherished little Mitch. Such parallels in the lives of our dearly departed Nico and his darling little brother Cody (same mother, Nico was 1 1/2 years old when we got him his Cody). By the way, Cody has the exact same harness, color and all, that Mitch has. I hope that Mitch is with you for 17 or 18 years, as I thought our Nico would be. Cody will be 14 on Feb 27th. I'm writing a book of poetry on Nico's life and loss. It's so wonderful to find people such as yourself, whose little angels aren't pets, but their children. Well done. Welcome to Cosmo!
Peace and Love,

lovely write. Brought back memories. I can appreciate the love of a Bichon Frise, I had my "Mon Ami" for 8 beautiful years
Was sadly missed when she passed.
