Panic attack.

To look at her you wouldΒ never know, the burden that she holds,
The tight chest, palpitations and sickness unfolds.Β
Quick, run get out, and into the cupboard.Β
For thats the only safe space she can't be discovered.Β
Hiding from the children and seeking repreive. Don't let any one see you go, just leave.Β
The gentle hum of the boiler offers safety as she dry heaves. Barely seeing through her puffy eyes wiping them with her sleeve.Β Β
In exhausted numbness she gives up tense posture, she shuts off completely, this is when you've lost her.
The daze can last days.
The body aches and shakes.Β
This attack is done, but only until the next one.Β

Your more than welcome ,
I've had a few panic attacks. I have PTSD I will be driving and a horn or loud noise will send me into a panic. I can totally relate to this
It reminds me how fragile we are; yet how strong. Best wishes to you also.Β
