Papaya or Paw Paw

Papaya or Paw Paw

They're hanging on the trees and every word,
succulent and sweet, the lovliness is absurd,
the leaves are perfect for many healing things,
will give you good health and a new pair of wings.

I saw all of them all outside my open front door,
a clutch of juicy bananas you just couldn't ignore,
oranges, lemons, mangoes, more than you could say,
we had to pay people to take many of them away.

The moonlight changed them all to a shady brown,
ready for dawn and smiled before I went to town,
my fruity friends couldn't wait for me to return,
I softly touched them, their respect I would earn.

My lovelys looked at me on the plate as they lay,
I put them so I could see their colour for the next day.Β Β

I'd pay to pick them but you're too far away ;)
