Paradise

Where is paradise?Ā
Certainly ain’t hereĀ
People standing outside LidlĀ
Sippin’ own brand beerĀ
Where is paradise?
I’m dying to goĀ
It’s always raining hereĀ
And if it don’t, it’ll snowĀ
What is paradise?Ā
Is it a place or a feeling?Ā
I bet it feels better than staring at the ceilingĀ
What is paradise?Ā
2 weeks annual leaveĀ
There’s too much pollution hereĀ
I can’t fucking breatheĀ
Paradise isn’t tiredĀ
Depressing and sadĀ
Local gammy pigeon and a flying plastic bag
Constant wars and fighting, media ignite fearĀ
If I were to be in paradise, I wouldn’t shed a tearĀ
There’d be sand on my feet and I’d go on long hikesĀ
There’d be no city centres funding anti homeless spikesĀ
The sunset would mesmerise me and the waves would be astoundingĀ
Wouldn’t be watching BBC to see who Hancock gave a poundingĀ
The world would be fed, children wouldn’t know hungerĀ
They’d be free to play, hope and wonderĀ
Designer logos wouldn’t matter
We could dress like the mad hatter
You wouldn’t only be important if your wallet is fatterĀ
Everyone’s going off grid
I reckon I will soonĀ
And if I don’t end up doing that
I’m gonna fly to the moon

Really feel the 'pissedoffness' in this Amber. Paradise on earth will never happen untill we stop electing narcissists and sociopaths to power...but you can find it sometimes in ...'pissedness' itself šŸ™ƒšŸ˜€šŸ˜šŸ˜†

I feel the frustration towards this bitter reality we endure. Going off grid seems the only chance to feel some sort of freedom. But we also must ensure this planet is cared for. Right now it is being abused, the future of its wellbeing are a gloomy one. We must tend to the wounds we have given this beautiful earth. Thanks for the food for thought. We can only hope we wake up as a planet soonĀ

I enjoyed reading this, it made me smile and frown and enjoyed the imagery and rhyme and the message one of my favourite lines was "Designer logos wouldn’t matter We could dress like the mad hatter"
