Some people say I’m paranoid

I’m not!!! What would they know?

They’ve never liked me anyway

Say I let my feelings show

Tried to join in conversation

But they’d stare at me with hate

Make me look just like an idiot

Then I’d get in such a state

They’re meant to be my friends

Watching out for me they say

When all the time they’re bitching

My mind taunts me every day!

But it ain’t just all my peers

It’s the strangers that I meet

Standing at the bus stop

Or just walking down the street

Staring at me constantly

Pointing; take the mick

Stick the knife in given half a chance

But I never miss a trick

Getting hard to keep a level

Cos my head it drives me mad

Friends and neighbours talk to me

But I know they think I’m bad

It’s the silences I hate

When they don’t know what to say

Then they nod and give you pleasantries

Keep my mind; and them at bay

So I’m sat here in my lounge

With the curtains closed real tight

Now the world it cannot watch me

Out of mind; and out of sight ...
