Poem -

Part one, newly broken

She sits at the bar
In the furthest corner
Hiding from everyone
And anyone getting closer
Cheap drinks and cigarettes
Blues music getting louder
drunk men and arguments
When the lions get prouder
She ponders and muses
As she watches, on and on
People flit in and flit out
Like jackdaws in a storm
Lips parted, smoke rings
Eyes wide and bright and dry
As she searches for that one man
That always made, her, cry.
In he comes, it's raining outside
Black shirt, blue jeans and grey eyes
He shakes off the rain, and looks up
He can smell lavender and camomile
He knows she's there
He can feel it in his bones
The scent of her
Overpowering his cologne
Bright eyes in the corner
Lit up by a flickering fire
As she lights up another cigarette
Smoke rings transpire
Like two cats, they stop and stare
Each heart to new to this
Not enough time to repair the break
They can still taste each others kiss
