Part two, newly awoken

He looks up
His hands shake slightly
As he nods his head
In her direction, politely
She looks beautiful
Eyes so bright and sincere
But he ran away from her
Out of reach, for fear
Of being too involved
Of being hurt again
His eyes search hers
Almost looking for a friend
She braves his glance
And doesn't look away
She still wants him
He still wants to stay
A shout to the bartender
For a bourbon on the rocks
He sits on a bar stool
Looks around and takes stock
At the people all around him
Getting drunk and getting loud
But around her, it is calm
There is almost silence, profound
The beauty of her eyes
The elegance of her body
He can't help but stare at her
And to the music he nods softly
This felt like a dream to him
And something good might happen
He thinks back to that day
Amongst the Heather and bracken
Where limbs entwined
And mouths explored
A memory etched in granite
A memory he adored
So he gets up slowly
He can feel her eyes upon him
There is silence as he walks
Her beauty quietens the din

Wow!!.... this is a STELLAR piece of poetic prose.... with an elegance that does not normally belong in a narrative involving a barroom....... it is a sparkling example of the power of the pen when pure creativity meets the eyes of a beautiful idea...... the back and forth between these two is truly magical ...
