Passion

Passion fills the heart
a blossoming rose,
awoken at dawn
amongst a violent flame
of sun and molten stars

A desert wind that rakes the skin
the gentle craving of aĀ
wildflower petal dew kiss,
when bursting hearts begin to mourn
the keenness of the lion“s claw

Held against the stone cheek
the feathered breast of the dove,
where summer lasts forever
in the tranquil peace of friendship and love

The air never grows cold
amongst the silent, falling snow,
the robin“s fervent song and breast aglow
ethereal fair hosts,
to calm the rough wind
and it“s tempest of ghosts.
