Past a little

Past a little

The morning I woke to look out my window
Morning sun bleeding through the dark of the room,
The birds slowly woke me from my slumber
Before I slept I drifted, looking through to our moon,
I sigh to myself, remembering the dream I just had
We grew so young & in love my sweetheart,
Making love cos we could, not understanding it all
Teachers also knew but after yrs we had to part,
I followed the yrs, in wherever they lead me
Years past by, you had a girl & someone new,
I faced a few broken times, but it was never the same
Memories haunted me while deep down still loving you,
I will never forget we were each others first time first love
Still holding the piece of my heart you owned & cast aside,
I think we were meant to be, but our time was not to be
I pushed those feelings deep down & scarred & meant to hide,
But now I'm older & wiser, did a few things I am not proud,
I'm left with our song we first fell in love to
For I long when I lay down & look out my window again
And to see you in my safe dreams, the place where I'm allowed.

(Dedicated to my first love.. Vicky, who we first met when we were nearly 15 & 14 & we were together for over 4 years, til this day I regret I got her pregnant & her dad forced us to split, still love you babe xx)
