PAYING FOR HIS MISTAKES

It seems the harder I try, the harder it is, to break down this wall you've built
impossible for me, to ever deliver pure love, when you make me carry around his guilt
why do you take out on me, what was inflicted by he, who is the true center of your disgust
everyday of my life, I'm paying for his past mistakes, everyday I'm receiving distrust
your past is not our present, but it affects our future,Ā causeĀ your wounds are still fresh and wide open
theĀ more love IĀ flood into that heart of yours, the faster it comes out, cause the other side of is stillĀ open
he crushed your hopes, and destroyed your dreams, desires, and kept you down
he took away your spirit, never letting you grow, anticipating in your sorrows you'd drown
his negative spirit embedded into your soul, so now negativity is all you know
your pain is on high alert, preventing you from receiving love, preventing us from the potential to grow
He is not I and I'm certainly not him, yet your eyes burn through my soul like I'm the one
who dismissed your emotions and did away with your smile, so oh what a crazy web you've spun
I can't be held responsible for what someone else did, I can only try to build you back up
yet when I display my love in abundance to you, the look you give me back says to me "Good Luck"

Thanks Cherie this poem is based on past relationships kinda just moved into one event but you're right often times we misconstrue if that's spelled correctly, true intentions of someone for bad intentions one person can mess up a person's life for all others. Thank u for the comment
