Peace and War

The sacred pipe, the calumet of Great Lakes and Valley
Mysterious and yet greatly respected, less the honor
Paid to those who wore crowns of gold as kings
The god of peace and war, the arbiter of life and death
Display this sacred pipe and be it carried as you do
Let it walk you through the midst of enemies, when seen
Those in fight throw down their weapons, no longer armed
But through this sacred pipe a meaning and an honor for peace
Peace be with you, let us carry our ritual to our lakes and valleys
Once Again, oh great arbiter bring us life not death
Let us celebrate in thanksgiving with this peacepipe I pass unto you
A ceremonious ritual of love, honor, respect and gratitude it be
Let our lakes and valleys with your grace see us through

Hi Nancy
This is a good write
I have a penchant for the Native American
They lost so much in the evolution of the USA and Canada
Occasionally I try to write in their Genre as well
mostly Shamanic but also Native Love story as well
well written Nancy
Jude
Thanks Jude- I have Cherokee blood in my family on my fathers side, and also a passion to write the life stories only to have read about them, not to have lived them.
Thanksgiving to me is thanking our native americans for their gifts of salvation our land and the nourishment and growth they gave to it centuries ago, making it pentiful yet today!
