People In The Room

People In The Room

There was Aphrodite in her nightie, so high
and mighty, who pushed the elephant so tightly,
into a corner to make space for mystery,
and called out to me: 'Please come and love me.'

She said: I hear that they call you the 'baby maker,'
I need an heir to my throne. 'So I decided to take her
to a friend of mine as I happened to be indisposed,
but when I got to Hercules tomb, it was closed.

So I had to oblige and pushed the jewellery to one side,
I had brown eyes, right for the boy, as she suddenly cried:
'It's true, all the things that they told me about you,
where have you been all my life - no wonder there's a queue.'

The elephant became restless, trumpeted a silly text,
it said: 'I'm lonely in this room - can I be next?'
