Phantom Bay

Phantom Bay

She haunts the way
The ships never came ashore
Where a partial heart awaited
But not a vessel to step aboard
So she wept at vaseless sills
For the withered sails of windswept hope
Until the blade was all she had left to kiss
On the night her wrath within, awoke
Sobbing as she draws you in
To the path she walks alone

The young, she envies
Their love, she never had
But a life of longing
Lost with conscience
In a moment immortalised by her own hand
Stalking your skin crawls
As she attaches to follow you home
You've let her in and so begins
The raging battle for your soul

No veneer upon her face to shroud
Her crimson eyes lament
No robe or cloak of blood and stain
No spirit will be cleansed
No tree, she hides
And when you hear her wail
You'll know it's not an omen
But the ill willed bringer of death
